A bright, healthy smile doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built through consistent care and smart habits. Whether you're 9 or 90, taking small steps every day can significantly improve your oral health and help you avoid expensive treatments down the line.
1. Brush the Right Way
Brushing twice a day is key, but the way you brush matters. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Brush gently in circular motions for two minutes, making sure to clean every surface—including your tongue.
2. Don’t Skip the Floss
Flossing reaches the tight spots between your teeth where plaque builds up. Make it a nightly habit and use a clean section of floss for each tooth.
3. Rinse with Mouthwash
A fluoride or antibacterial mouthwash helps kill germs and strengthen enamel. Use it after brushing and flossing to give your mouth extra protection.
4. Watch Your Diet
Limit sugar and acidic drinks, which weaken enamel and feed bacteria. Instead, load up on crunchy fruits, leafy greens, dairy, and water.
5. Stay Hydrated
Saliva plays a key role in protecting your teeth. Drink water regularly to keep your mouth clean and prevent dry mouth.
6. Change Your Brush Regularly
Replace your toothbrush or brush head every 3–4 months—or sooner if the bristles are frayed.
